The Czapek Antarctique Rattrapante R.U.R. – Tribute to Karel Čapek unites fine watchmaking with a literary homage to the Czech author who gave the world the word “robot.” Inspired by Čapek’s visionary play R.U.R., this creation explores the relationship between humanity and technology – a dialogue between precision, creativity, and emotion.
Its 42.5 mm stainless steel case blends the sporty spirit of the Antarctique line with refined haute horlogerie aesthetics. The skeletonized dial features a robotic head motif whose “eyes” change color with the chronograph’s state – yellow for start, red for stop, and blue for reset – a clever nod to Čapek’s philosophical reflection on machines and mankind.
Inside beats the in-house SXH6 calibre, a monopusher rattrapante chronograph developed with Chronode, capable of measuring two elapsed times simultaneously. With 120 m water resistance, a sapphire caseback, and an integrated steel bracelet, this timepiece embodies innovation, intellect, and the art of time itself.

The Czapek & amp; Cie brand continues the legacy of the Polish-Czech watchmaker Francis Czapek, co-founder of Patek, Czapek & amp; Cie in 1839. After his break with Patek, he founded his own brand in Geneva and soon became the court watchmaker to Napoleon III.
